Wordless Wednesday

Do you have students who have a hard time paying attention while you demonstrate? Let them play teacher! Here I am demonstrating the “tricky spots” in the LH of this piece, and my student is making sure that I play each measure by pointing them out! This is a great way to keep a student focused.

I really like the suggestion on Wordless Wednesday of letting the student play teacher. What a great way to keep the student watching and concentrating.
Thanks, Ann! I’ve started using this technique with lots of my students, and they love the opportunity to play teacher. It gives them a sense of agency AND keeps their eyes on the music.
I hope you find it useful with your students. I’ll try to include more tips in Wordless Wednesdays in the future. Maybe they’ll become “Not-So Wordless Wednesdays” 😉
