Giving Back – Harvest the Music
The holidays are almost upon us. This time of year brings about a flurry of activities: school plays and concerts, holiday shopping extravaganzas, school breaks, and (hopefully) lots of time with family and friends.
For many, it’s a time of plenty: an abundance of gifts under the tree and food on the table. Others are not so lucky.
Hunger is right here in Mercer County. Did you know that 13.5% of residents in Mercer County struggle to put enough food on the table each day?
This year Sara’s Music Studio will be giving back to our community. We’re teaming up with the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County to gather food, baby items, and personal hygiene products. Let’s help make the holidays a little brighter in our local community.
The Harvest for Music will run from
November 1st through December 5th.
Students who participate will be entered into our “Turkey Trot.” For every item they bring in, their turkey will get to move on step closer to the donation goal line. The top 3 donators will receive prizes of their choice: iTunes gift cards or sheet music.
How does your studio give back to your local community? Do you have a food drive? Do you gather winter coats and socks for local shelters? Please comment below with your ideas about how your students give back to their community!
