Different Ways to Use Music Blast

Big shout out to all the teachers who have been messaging me about the Music Blast Camp plans! It’s been great seeing all the awesome pictures of your students having fun in the sun! (Or the rain — those garage options work out just fine in a pinch.)

Remember: You don’t have to run a week long camp to use these plans.  If a summer camp isn’t in your schedule this year, no worries. There are lots of ways that you can use the materials in Music Blast.

Different Ways to Use Music Blast

Summer Ideas:

• Run single camp days throughout the summer.
• Have a “Summer Fun” day with only the water relays.
• Studio BBQ/Informal Recital – use the bean bag games with parents.
• Go BIGGER: Get a dunk tank for an extra fun end of the day activity!

School Year Ideas:

• Use the Boomwhacker section as a stand alone group lesson.
• Hold a “Scale Madness” day and use all the pentascale/scale activities.
• Halloween Compositions – tune the water xylophone to a minor pentascale.
