Winter Studio Games
Look out, the snowmen are coming! This a really cute matching game from Wendy Stevens at ComposeCreate.com. There are two sets of cards: one to identify note names (36 cards) and another to identify steps and skips (12 cards). It takes some time to cut out and laminate (and then cut again), but I’m sure that these cards will last for a while now!
This would be a great game to start or end a lesson. You can easily customize it to each student by selecting cards that are appropriate for their level. This weekend I’m going to experiment by playing a “Go Fish” style group game with some of my older students.
“Do you have any C’s?”
“Nope! Go play in the snow!”
Here’s a link to the free download: Free Snowman Flashcards.

How creative! Learning should always be this fun!
“If it’s not fun, why do it?” 🙂
These are a definite upgrade than the old flashcards I’ve been using at lessons! I’ll have to make a set for my students. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Bridey! I hope your students enjoy them. I absolutely love the title of your blog! How creative – I added your blog to my list on my right hand menu. I hope you don’t mind 🙂
