April 2014 Studio Update

Hello Parents and Students!

Here’s a quick run-down of upcoming events at the studio. Stay tuned for information regarding this year’s summer lessons!

2014 Spring Recital
Our recital is on Saturday, May 10th @ 11am. As always, students are strongly encouraged, but not required to participate. Piano students should already have their piece(s) selected, and voice students must have their song decided on by April 10th. Please feel free to pass along the attached invitation to family and friends who might like to attend!

Cookie Request: Parents who can contribute cookies for the reception afterwards can sign up on the Cookie Sheet in the lobby! We normally have at least 25 students who participate, and 125-150 people who attend. As always, I will provide all the napkins, plates, cups, and punch!

2014 Summer Workshops
I’m excited to announce that we will once again have three summer workshops this year. This year’s Vocal Workshop will feature vocalist and pianist, Mr. Kevin Shields, and will feature a public performance with group and solo pieces! For younger piano students, we will go on a Summer Cruise Piano Camp to explore music from Latin and South American. More advanced piano students will love the Piano Improv Workshop. All workshops are 5 days long, with 2 hours of instruction each day, and will take place at Westminster College.

Registration forms will be sent out in the next two weeks. Workshops are open to students OUTSIDE of the studio as well – so be sure to invite your friends! Yours in music ~ Sara
