Voice Lesson Assignment Sheets
Today is the first day of our fall semester at the studio, and this morning I wanted to wrap-up a little project I’ve had in mind for a while. Over the past year, I’ve created quite a few piano assignment sheets, but I had nothing similar for my voice students. We’ve used notepaper in the past to keep track of progress and assignments, but this year I wanted to try something different.
My students already bring in a 3-ring binder for all their assignments, warm-ups, and digital sheet music. Now I have a Voice Lesson & Practice Log Assignment Sheet that will make it much easier to stay organized and on-task. Each sheet has room for 2 lessons, with areas for Warmups, Technical Focuses, Assignments, and even a place for them to list Their Weekly Playlist.
(P.S. – Print them back to back to save on paper and ink. You’ll only need 10-12 sheets per student per year depending on how many lessons you teach!)
Why the weekly playlist? Because I think it’s important for teachers to know what their voice students are listening to outside of lessons. A student’s playlist can give us insight into what kind of repertoire might inspire them, and it might also give us hints about the types of voices our students are listening to on an almost daily basis.
There’s also a Teacher Lesson Log page to correspond with your student’s assignment pages! Each teacher page has room for 3 lessons, with special areas for Attendance, New Repertoire, and plenty of room for Lesson Notes.
