Ludwig on the Shelf

I’m always on the look out for cool new characters to bring into the studio. In August I stumbled across something on Amazon that I knew we just had to get this year.

Composer Action Figures

That’s right. Archie McPhee, the company that brought us Bacon Band-Aids and the Horse Head Squirrel Feeder has a line of music composer action figures, including Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and Wagner.

** Bach and Mozart are unfortunately out of stock at most places. If you find any online stores that have them, please share the link in the comments below! I’d love to get all four of these guys in my studio.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the action-figure. Beethoven has posable arms and legs, and his head can be turned slightly from side to side. He comes with a little bench, which is a must since he has long coat tails and can’t sit on a surface without tipping over.

Beethoven arrived in our studio last week. He’s adjusting pretty well, although I’m not sure that he’s a huge fan of all the farm animals that he has to hang out with right now. We’ll find him some more composer buddies to hang out with in the future!

To keep him occupied, I was able to find a small instrument for him to play. (He might be somewhat disappointed at the small range of notes…)

Beethoven practicing

This fall, Beethoven will be helping students stay focused during lessons, and he might just be up to some crazy antics as we get closer to the holidays. Yesterday, I arrived at the studio to find him horsing around…
